and we’re off!

Kicked of the work year this weekend with a show in Chicago Saturday night at STAGE 773 (love that theatre!)Chicago show 2

It was great to play here again, with some familiar faces and brand spanking new ones
I got to try out some new stuff, and just generally blow out the cobwebs

Good Lord did I have fun.

It was like playing to a bunch of mates in my lounge room
Except everyone had their hair did, and wore pants

chicago show 3

The after show was pretty fun too
But I am under the threat of having no mates left, if I share those pics
Hint: Drag Club đŸ™‚chicago show 1

Next up, back to Oz to join Dad for his first tour of the year
We have a lot more things being added this year, before we head off for the huge UK Tour in November

Also, I have a sneaky little WA show coming up Sunday 21st February
More details in a few days
It’s going to be a fab show for an amazing cause….watch this space!!

balls to the wall belfast!

Even though I know what to expect whenever I play in Belfast
It’s always a bit of a shock to my system
This is the place where, more than anywhere else, I EARN it.
Every laugh. Every time.
A belfast crowd is about as tough as they come. But if they like you, they fucking love you..
They aren’t easily impressed, and I’ll get told more times to ‘feck off’ here, than anywhere else in the world
So…
Last night, I went for it

Put my proverbial boxing gloves on and went to work
Maybe I’m getting better
Maybe they’re getting used to me
Maybe I’m just louder?
But, last night, it really worked
Like, they cheered like mofos for me
Sang along
And applauded. Hard

At half time, the peeps here formed a line that went on forever, waiting to say G’day and get their stuff signed
So Belfast…I’ve always loved you
You’re like one of the cool kids at school that aren’t too sure if you’re going to let me in your gang
And last night, you liked me right back
It’s like, we’re buds

Don’t get me wrong, I still wouldn’t fuck with you, and would totally do your homework if you told me to. You made me fucking work for it
But, that just makes me appreciate it even more
I had the best time on stage last night
And looking at your faces….I reckon that was pretty mutual

Can’t wait to get back here again next year
Better start training for it now.

la didn’t suck nearly as much as it normally does

How’s your weekend going so far?

Mine looked like it was going to suck bat-balls, but is actually going pretty lovely now #thanksforaskingeventhoughyoudidn’t

I’m headed to Australia for the South Australia, Northern Territory Tour with Dad

My flight to LA from Chicago was nearly 6 hours late, which meant I missed my connecting flight to Melbourne

I ended up spending the night in LA, without my luggage

You think I’d be used to that shit by now

After sleeping in my clothes that I’d had on for 24 hours

I caught a taxi to the mall this morning to grab some essentials because I was starting to smell like a busted arsehole

Undies, socks, shampoo, bo juice, brush, push up bra, hangover cure

The taxi ride there was a death trip and a half

Think of every stereotypical thing you’ve heard about taxi drivers

Times that by a bazillion, and you have the dicktard who was driving the suicide-mobile I was rolling around the backseat in

Got to the mall, grabbed the stuff I needed (+ 2 massive coffees) & headed back to the (really flash considering the airline were paying for it) hotel

Jumped in another taxi expecting the same old

And just to prove that I should stop being such a judgmental mole

My taxi driver turned out to be one of the nicest people I have ever met

You know when you meet someone, and they just give off a great vibe?

He was 45 years old, from Africa with a crazy strong accent – but no worse than mine

He talked about how lucky he was to meet new people every day and live in a place where the sun always shone

I learnt all about his family, that he adored

He was a beautiful, peaceful soul – and to say he made my day, would be a massive understatement

He reminded me of a saying that I’ve always loved,

It’s hard to be ignorant with a full passport

I loved him

(Almost as much as my new undies & hot pink push up bra!)
