Oh yeah….check me out
Two posts in TWO DAYS baby!
That’ll be me done for the year then.
We are 3 shows into the Queensland tour
Well, technically, I’m only two shows into it, as I didn’t join the tour until the second show, in Twin Towns
I was flying somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, after dropping my babies off to Diamond in Dallas, while Dad was playing the first show in Acacia Ridge last Friday night
And from all accounts, I missed a ball tearer of a gig
But Twin Towns…..oh Twin Towns….
It’s been FAR too long since we played there
Seven years, maybe?
And dudes, you made up for that and more
Hooley fucking dooley….what a show!!
One thousand party animals in a singing mood
With the added bonus of catching up with one of Dad’s sisters, and her totally awesome family in the morning for brekky
Then we headed to Lismore – which yes, is technically in N.S.W. not QLD, but whatevs….
It gives a chance to catch up with more family as well as visit Dad’s parents, who are both buried there
It should be noted that it took us WAY longer than it should have to find the cemetery
3 iPhones and a GPS weren’t helping the cause either
I told Dad it felt like we were playing a game of hide-and-seek with my dead Grandparents
And they nearly WON!
So there is still a lot of family, on my Dad’s side in Lismore
Including my Uncle, who we shall henceforth refer to as the ‘YETI’ (his idea)
Meaning; often talked about, but rarely sighted in the flesh
And to add to his mystery, as well as being DAD’S little brother
His name is also KEVIN
There’s actually more than one story about Uncle Kev being refused entry into a show, after telling security, “…I’m Kevin Bloody Wilson’s brother, KEV!”
Why are they both called Kev?
I know those of you that have read The Book, already know the answer to that one.
