I’d mentioned before that the girls were hanging out to celebrate my birthday with me

And they did not disappoint

I came home to flowers

Balloons

Chocolate cake

And my favourite?

The homemade gifts

Diamond takes then to a pottery place not far from our house

And they pick a piece of pottery, paint it

And pick it up a week or so later

I can’t get enough of the stuff they make for me there

They’ve tried buying me all sorts of other presents over the years

Clothes

Returned them

Shoes

Returned them

Handbags, jewelry, perfume

Returned it, returned it, returned it

I’m the first to admit and Diamond always tells me that I’m a fucking nightmare not the easiest person to buy for

But the homemade stuff?

I love it all

And I’m starting to get quite the collection

I’m going to end up being one of those old ladies surrounded by cats that has a cabinet in the corner full of all these homemade gifts

I don’t like ornaments

I don’t like cutesy, cluttered houses

But if my girls made it for me?

I’ll keep it

It’ll be great stuff to keep for when they’re teenagers and hate my guts and we use them as missiles too cool to make their mum stuff anymore

It’d be the first thing I’d take with me if the house was on fire

After I’d picked it all up gently and wrapped it bubble wrap, so it didn’t break

Time permitting

Then I’d run

After I’d gotten the girls out of course

And Fluffy

Oh yeah, Diamond too

But isn’t he supposed to carry my arse out rescue me?
